Why us?

There are lots of national organisations offering me fancy online software and the backup of a national network of consultants, so why should I go with a small local consultant?

We don’t have a fancy online portal (unless you think this website is fancy in which case you’re easily pleased!) but what we do have is time. Time for each individual client, because each individual business is unique. One size doesn’t fit all. We won’t put you on a standard plan we’ll write one to suit your needs, not ours. We’ll form an actual working relationship with the individuals in the business and it’ll be with one consultant; your consultant. No nameless mass, no call centre helplines. Ask your national provider how many times a year they’re prepared to come and see you and if they’re willing to put that in the contract, not just sales man’s bluster actual contractually obligated visits. I bet they start looking a little more expensive once they’ve adjusted their prices to include more than once visit a year.

The other reason is that we’re local. You get a local consultant who knows the area and will know Some of your clients and suppliers. Many national organisations attempt to cover the highlands from the central belt or ever further afield. They won’t tell you that, but it’s obviously likely to lead to poor service and poor availability from the consultant. Ask your other supplier where their consultant lives.

No call centres, no client relations team just a local person to speak to. Sound refreshing? We like it that way because if there’s an issue we’d like to be the first to know so we can fix it immediately, not build walls to prevent it being fixed.

I believe that the fundamentals of good business is to do what you say you are going to do, when you say you’re going to do it. It is on that basis that we will conduct all of our dealings with you.

Did you know? It is legal requirement that all organisations have access to “Competent health and safety advice”. This is from the Management of Health and Safety at work Regulations 1999 (Regulation 7 if you’re interested). Many smaller organisations will choose to cover this requirement by engaging a consultant on a retained basis to act as competent advisor. We act on this basis for many clients.

Our Ethos

I believe that the fundamentals of good business is to do what you say you are going to do, when you say you’re going to do it. It is on that basis that we will conduct all of our dealings with you.

I also believe that no one should have to spend their health in order to earn a living, equally there is always away.  Those who rush straight to prohibition siting “elff an Safety” without explaining the context and the options are lazy, and those charge on regardless are dangerous.  There is a middle way. It’s called the management of health and safety risk and its what we do.

It’s no different to risk in any other aspect of your business that you manage, finance, recruitment, HR.  You probably have a professional to keep you on the right side of the law on those matters, so isn’t it about time you had one for safety?
