Collard & Co were contracted as Principal Contractor for the replacement of ~400m of external conveyors at a maltings. The project brief was that all works must be carried out with the site remaining operational without impacting on production.

There were significant operational challenges in terms of material handling with all the conveyors being at significant height, placed above active operational areas or in restricted spaces.

Collard & Co handled all communication between the contractor and the site operational management team, co-ordinating daily between the project and the production schedule to ensure that both operations continued without impeding each other. All CDM compliance documentation and permits to work were also provided to the satisfaction of the Client’s HSEQ management, who conducted regular audits.

The project was completed without health and safety incident.
